I recently had occasion
to make a short puddle hop between Cardiff and Dublin on Air Eirann after
a few days of wandering the Wales coast. The
parking lot of the Holiday Inn Express Hotel right across from the airport
entrance was packed with cars. A convention – at the HI Express?
I couldn’t imagine that many guests where staying at the hotel, which
inside had a calm, quiet air, only a soul or two hanging out at the bar
watching a match on the wide screen, relaxing before a morning flight.
The car belonged to holiday goers taking advantage of the popular Park
Stay and Fly package offered at Holiday Inns, HI Express and Crown Plaza
hotels near airports, rail stations and ports.
The advantage of regional carrier discount airlines like RyanAir, Easyjet
and Flybe in Europe departing from airports in the United Kingdom for holiday
destinations on sunny shores of Spain, Croatia, the South of France or
any other spot which suits your fancy for a quick getaway, is the cheap
price for a few days away. But getting to the point of departure and what
to do with the car? With the Park and Go package, you can take a bit of
the stress out of flying. Arrive the day before your departure, stay overnight
at the hotel, leave your car in the hotel parking for the length of your
trip. Just get in and go when you return.
The
package from InterContinental Hotels brands Holiday
Inn Express and Crowne
Plaza properties
includes one night hotel accommodation and up to fifteen nights parking
at
hotels conveniently located at the points of departure.
You can choose the package based on the number of days parking your trip
requires. A minimum of 4 nights for a quick escape, and ranges of 5 to
8 nights and 9 to 15 nights for longer trips. Additional nights parking
beyond the package are at regular parking rates. From the looks of the

the package seems to be a deal many are travelers in Britain are taking
advantage.
